Small tools.
Room to explore.
Three small design experiments, ready to use in your browser. Explore a color combination, try a typographic idea, or adjust an animation before deciding what to make next. No account or installation is needed.
Color crush
A palette picker for exploring five-color combinations. It cycles through five curated palettes, including warm orange and sage, lavender and navy, and pink with blue. Use it as a starting point for an interface, illustration, or mood board.
How to use it
- Open the Color crush card on the homepage.
- Select “Another palette” to cycle through the combinations.
- Select “Copy hex codes” to copy all five colors into your design notes.
For example, the first palette includes #F4AC8B, #ED6645, #BED0A2, #45554A, and #F6F5F0. If your browser blocks clipboard access, the codes remain visible so you can copy them yourself. Check text contrast in your final design; a palette is inspiration, not an accessibility guarantee.
Try Color crush ↗Type play
A live type-size experiment for short phrases. Try a headline or a few words and see how scale changes their character. It is a quick way to explore a phrase before working on a full layout.
How to use it
- Open the Type play card on the homepage.
- Replace “what if?” with your own words, up to 32 characters.
- Move the size slider from 24 to 100 pixels and compare the result.
Start with a short phrase such as “Make something.” Try 32 pixels for a quieter treatment and 80 pixels for a larger headline. This experiment changes size; it does not offer font selection or export a production layout. Your words stay in the browser and are not submitted to an application server.
Try Type play ↗Good vibrations
A motion study made from a repeating arrangement of shapes. Adjust its speed to compare a gentle rhythm with a more energetic movement. Use it to think about timing and visual attention when exploring an interaction.
How to use it
- Open the Good vibrations card on the homepage.
- Move the speed slider between 0.3× and 3×; 1× is the starting speed.
- Close the experiment and use the page’s pause control whenever you want to stop movement.
The animation follows the page’s pause state and your device’s reduced-motion preference. It starts paused when reduced motion is requested. If you choose to play, start slowly and pause whenever needed. This is a visual experiment, with no video or animation-file export.
Try Good vibrations ↗Small, local experiments
These tools are built by Kidpech as part of playroom.day, a space for design and code experiments. They run locally in your browser, without accounts or a project-saving service. Keep any colors or wording you want before leaving the page.
